Happy Holidays, with love from Big Top
It’s been another year of highs and lows and, sadly, the lows have hit rock bottom with the atrocities in Gaza and Israel, the war in Ukraine and, closer to home, the cost-of-living crisis.
It’s supposed to be “The happiest season of all”. At least, that’s what Andy Williams tells us.
But it does feel strange celebrating and feeling joyous when so many people are unable to do so.
That’s why we’ve decided to donate to four charities close to the Big Top team’s hearts.
Here’s a little bit about each charity, and a link in case you’re able to donate. Every pound makes a difference.
So, join us in raising a glass to Shane McGowan, and let’s hope he was on to something when he said: “I can see a better time. When all our dreams come true.”
The Robin Cancer Trust is a small and perfectly formed charity focused on raising awareness of germ cell cancers, including Testicular and Ovarian cancer. It aims to raise awareness amongst young people of the signs and symptoms to watch out for, so you’ll often find them at festivals and concerts promoting their #TalkingBollocks campaign to young men and supporting women through their #NotOvaryreacting initiatives.

Since 1832, the Retail Trust has been caring for and protecting the lives of people working in retail. We believe the health of our retail colleagues in the UK is the foundation they need to flourish in both work and life, creating a more sustainable and successful future for retail. We also believe we all need to #RespectRetail more, especially during the busy Christmas period. A smile and a kind word costs nothing and can make a huge difference.

Save the Children
Save the Children works to ensure children have healthcare, food and shelter, as well as learning and child protection services when young people need it most. It is committed to helping all children achieve their full potential by ensuring they grow up healthy, receive a good education, and stay safe. The charity believes all children have a right to protection from violence, exploitation, abuse and neglect and when disaster strikes it’s there, saving lives.

Crisis
Crisis is the UK’s national charity supporting people who experience homelessness, including an estimated 120,000+ children. To be without a home is unthinkable for most of us at any time of year. But around Christmas and during the winter months, it’s particularly tough mentally, as well as physically. Donating just £29.73 will help Crisis to make this someone’s last Christmas without a home.
